This vessel is wheel-thrown in stoneware and finished with a warm, cream-coloured glaze that pools and shifts across the surface, creating subtle variations of ivory, sand and pale gold. The form is quietly asymmetrical; the rim gently uneven, the walls slightly irregular – traces of the hand that shaped it on the wheel.
The small, sculptural foot gives the piece an unexpected delicacy, almost like a stem, making it as pleasing to hold as to look at. Inside, the glaze catches the light with a soft luminosity.
A piece that sits in the space between the functional and the contemplative.
