A blue bird; handbuilt and modelled in stoneware, its surface treated with oxides that give it the weight and texture of weathered stone or ancient wood; carries a small human figure on its back. The figure is raw and unglazed, sandy and warm against the deep charcoal of the bird, arms open, body surrendered to the movement beneath.
The contrast between the two is striking: the bird sleek and directional, built for flight or passage; the figure rough and vulnerable, clinging not in desperation but in trust. Together they suggest a journey;mythological, perhaps, and deeply personal.
